- 1 package fresh cranberries 12 oz
- 4-5 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 12-15 wooden cocktail skewers 4-6 inches long
- Optional: 2 tablespoons granulated sugar for sugared cranberries variation
- Optional: 1 egg white or 2 tablespoons simple syrup for sugared cranberries variation
First, rinse the cranberries and rosemary sprigs under cold water, then gently pat them dry with paper towels. This ensures your garnishes look clean and fresh.
Next, trim your rosemary sprigs into 3-4 inch lengths, cutting away any woody or brown sections. Remove a few of the lower needles from each sprig to create a clean stem that's easier to handle.
Now assemble your garnishes by threading 2-3 cranberries onto each wooden skewer. Slide one rosemary sprig alongside the cranberries, positioning it so the leafy part extends past the cranberries for a pretty effect.
When you're ready to use them, simply place a garnish across the rim of each glass or insert it directly into the drink. If you're not serving right away, keep the finished garnishes on a small plate in the refrigerator until your guests arrive.
For an extra festive touch, you can lightly brush the cranberries with egg white or simple syrup and roll them in sugar before adding them to the skewers. This creates a beautiful frosted look that's perfect for holiday cocktails.
