Ingredients

For the Mocktail Base:

  • 1 bottle 750ml non-alcoholic red wine OR 4 cups pomegranate or grape juice
  • 2 oranges or blood oranges sliced into rounds
  • 20 black grapes halved
  • 15 blackberries or blueberries
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 red apple thinly sliced
  • 2-4 tablespoons maple syrup optional, for sweetening

For Serving:

  • 2 cups sparkling water or ginger ale
  • Ice cubes
  • Additional fresh fruit for garnish
  • Cinnamon sticks for garnish
  • Halloween-themed decorations plastic spiders, eyeball picks, etc.

Instructions

Preparing the Mocktail Base:

  • Prepare the fruits: Wash all fruits thoroughly. Slice the oranges into thin rounds. Halve the grapes. Core and slice the apple thinly (leaving the skin on for color).
  • Combine ingredients: In a large glass pitcher, add the sliced oranges, grapes, blackberries, cinnamon sticks, and apple slices.
  • Add the base liquid: Pour in the non-alcoholic red wine or juice of choice, ensuring all fruits are submerged.
  • Infuse the flavors: Stir gently with a wooden spoon. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally 2-4 hours. The longer it sits, the more pronounced the flavors will become.

Before Serving:

  • Add bubbles: When ready to serve, gently stir in the sparkling water or ginger ale. This keeps the drink effervescent and lively.
  • Taste and adjust: Sample the sangria and add maple syrup one tablespoon at a time if you desire additional sweetness.
  • Serve in style: Pour over ice into decorative glasses and add additional garnishes for a spooky presentation.
